Latest News ! - There has been dramatic increases lately in a number of products and raw materials. Peat in general is up by 15-100% depending on source due to poor harvest conditions during the past two years, Perlite and Vermiculite have also seen massive increases as well as packaging and freight costs.  Remember that we will NEVER use bought in green waste in our composts it really is rubbish and plants cannot grow well in it in our experience also it encourages pests in abundance. On the otherhand we are quite happy to use green waste from our own sources as a means of improving soil and loam before it is shredded and steam sterilised.  Please remember that our prices include delivery and VAT and that all our own made products really are as good as they come.

In this example the total amount of goods equals 168.22 and weight of the consignment is 1109kg. but because the customer did not want any more goods there is a charge of 3.64 for the 91kgs below the 1200kg pallet limit.  The idea is then to look at cheap items to eliminate the underweight surcharge.   Full pallets include all costs: wrapping, pallet, delivery and VAT. The only extra is if you do not fill to the respective capacity 475kg or 1200kg.

Coir.  New direct sourcing means we can absorb many of the high haulage costs for this raw material. Wonderful for propagating almost any type of plant cuttings it works out much cheaper than the peat pellets often used.  For those growers who want to use a no peat compost or reduced peat content then coir offers the perfect solution.  New this season is supply of the dry blocks.  Weighing approx 5 kgs they expand to something like 60 litres when re-hydrated.

We continue to receive plaudits for the quality of our compost mixes particularly from enthusiasts growing for the show bench.  Remember that all our compost products are fresh made to order and have not been stored for many months outside as happens with the larger suppliers.

This season has seen some dramatic rises in raw material, haulage,fuel and packaging.  Where possible we have kept these to an absolute minimum in working out our delivered prices.   Sulphate of Iron up 40% means some of the lawn mixtures and Lawn Sand are increased as well as Calcified Seaweed (bizarre EU ruling means we can no longer source from Cornwall).

New warehousing complete with 520 pallet spaces of racking means that we shall be gradually extending the range of products on offer.
